Breaking Through

I finally feel like I'm breaking through the start up process in the "paint and sip" business. A lot of exciting things have happened recently.

We had our first theme party for the Day of the Dead. We painted sugar skull paintings and added black light paint to accent them. It was a really fun night. We will be having our next theme party in January. This time - Greek night! We will have Greek food, music (and maybe a little dancing). We Greeks express our emotions through music and dance. I'm anxious to share a bit of our culture and my mom's legacy with my customers.

We had another team bonding event with Alpine Dental. The ladies were so much fun and we all had a great time. Thanks for the hot buttered rum, Lorraine! Yummm...

Aaron and I did our fist business expo at Little America called Schmooza Palooza where we had everyone contribute to a thumbprint painting. Thanks to Stephanie with the Chamber for the great idea! We met so many people that day and had such a great time. We also had our red carpet event through the Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce which included a ribbon cutting ceremony. The chamber has been really great and so supportive.

The other night I painted with a women's cancer group through the Cancer Center here in town. It was an emotional time. My sister is a part of the group. She just found out her first PET scan since chemo shows her as cancer free! So, it was good. But, others there just found our their cancer is back. What a roller coaster. We painted a Thanksgiving Tree. The women all said they really needed the painting session. It's exactly what I want share with people. That feeling of peace and escape while painting. We will have an art show for them, and their work will be included in our next Art, Design & Dine December 13.

And, lastly, I was invited to speak at the Wyoming Small Business Development Center's monthly statewide meeting for small businesses. What an honor to be asked! I'm so honored that people are interested in my experiences as an entrepreneur and small business owner.

So, we have had lots of positive feedback and recognition. I'm so happy people love what we have to offer. I know we are doing things the right way. We have customers who have been back 4 and 5 times now - and we've only been in business 6 months! Thank you to all our customers for your support. We love you all!
